U.S. Intellectual History Blog

Introduction

First off, Tim, thanks for inviting me to contribute to the blog.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Julian Nemeth. I’m a doctoral student at Brandeis University. My interests are in intellectual history and the history of higher education. I wrote my master’s thesis at Ohio University on debates over academic freedom during the early Cold War. For my dissertation, which is in the earliest of stages, I hope to continue looking at the evolution of academic freedom as the concept developed through the second half of the twentieth century.

Since I’m currently studying for my comprehensive exams (and taking a full course load), I won’t blog extensively but plan to contribute the occasional reflection on works of intellectual history.

I look forward to adding my voice to the discussion this blog has started.
