New Service Opportunities with the S-USIH Publications Committee

[Update Note: We have had a great response already. Given that, this call will remain open only until Monday, 5/11. – TL]

Here are three opportunities to get involved with S-USIH without campaigning for an elected position:

1. Podcast Editor: We seek an energetic team member familiar with both USIH historiography and podcast technology (e.g. Skype, AdobeConnect, etc.) to fill the role of podcast editor. This person will have the opportunity to build our podcast program from the ground up—i.e. creating policies, surveying appropriate technologies, and building a active program in a variety of formats such as panel discussions, interviews, and oversee all podcast links on the S-USIH website. The podcast editor will serve at the discretion of the PubCom Chair, but will work with the book review team, website technician, and blog editor.

2. Assistant Book Review Editors: We seek two new team members to assist Robert Greene, our Book Review Editor, in maintaining our active queue of book reviews. This involves surveying new literature, soliciting reviewers and publishers, editing reviews, and posting finished products in accordance with S-USIH policies and procedures. Lilian Calles Barger will continue with the team, but is shifting her attention to developing our “classics” series of book reviews. (Commitment approximately 2 hours per week).

Please contact the PubCom Chair, Tim Lacy, if you are interested (timothy.n.lacy-at-gmail.com).
